I don't believe writer's block is an issue for me. I dream most of my stories, or they are inspired out of the blue. I think when people say they have a block, it's really just fear of writing what they really want to write. Two truisms can help: "What other people think about me is none of your business" and "There are 3 kinds of truth: my truth, your truth, and the truth." Only write about what feels right and true for you.

I advise new writers to write every day, take creative writing classes, be open to constructive criticism, take time to read the good stuff, and establish a platform (fan base) well before a book is written by connecting to other writers, and especially readers, online.

I'm currently working on several books, including part 2 of Eve's Amulet, a contemporary romantic drama, a literary work of fiction, and a non-fiction work on the effects of childhood abuse.

"Go, Dog! Go." was my inspiration to write, when I read it at 3 years of age. I wanted to know where the roads led to as they fell off the page and where the two dogs drove off to at the end of the story as they drove away together in a convertible wearing silly hats.

Death House was born out of a discussion with my older kids as we were trying to determine who had the scariest dreams or fears as a child. Some of those stories went into this book, like shadows on the wall becoming alive, and some were saved for the sequel.
