Emily Camp I get inspiration from everywhere, tv shows, movies, other books, music, podcasts, converstations. I'm always thinking of a plot of my next book or the scene I'm stuck on, a character that needs fleshed out more. Sometimes just the right show or song will spark the idea.
Emily Camp Right now I'm currently working on a couple different projects, but the one I'm most excited about is my next mystery novel. I completed the first draft during nanowrimo and am currently writing the second draft, molding it into the story it's going to become.
Emily Camp Its different with every book. I always try to participate in Nanowrimo which is a challenge to write a 50000 word rough draft in 30 days. If I focus, I can easily do this. It's the endless revising and editing that comes after that could take months or even years.
Emily Camp The main character in Boy of the Week, Kacey Jones, was inspired by my teenage self. I didn't care much about school when I was a teenager and I was super boy crazy. Though the premise came from my past, it is purely fictional.
Emily Camp Sorry, I'm just now seeing this, but I'm always happy to have reviewers. I'll send you a private message to get your information.
