I was playing one of the new Tomb Raider games and thought 'Lara spends so much time with corpses, wouldn't it be cool if she could manipulate the dead with necromancy? That would throw a wrench in Trinity's plans!" My wife thought it sounded cool and pushed me to start putting it on paper.

I paint a picture inside someone else's head and make them care about imaginary people. Then afterward we can talk about it as if it really happened. How cool is that?!

I don't believe in writer's block. If for some reason I can't come up with the next part of my story I just write something else, before or after, and fill in the gaps later. If I can't think of ANYTHING to write, I go play a game or watch a movie for inspiration. I almost always have a "That's cool, but what if..." moment that gives me something to work on.
