Letitia L. Moffitt So many possibilities ... I think the world of Jasper Fforde's Thursday Next would be fun -- I'd get to meet fictional characters in person. There's also the world of the Dragonriders of Pern, which would be fun to visit because, well, dragons of course.
Letitia L. Moffitt Beatrice and Benedick, from Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, because who doesn't love a good witty, sparring couple?
Letitia L. Moffitt I wanted to get back to some really fun and imaginative writing, specifically the kind of writing that comes from asking "What if...?" It's what kids do all the time -- what if you could fly, what if you could walk through walls. I remember some weird little nuggets of "science" (the quote marks are deliberate) I've read and each of the novels in the TraceWorld series are based on one of these nuggets plus the question "What if this were true?" The first book, for example, is based on the idea that the human body releases measurable energy when it expires. What if we could sense this energy? Hmm.........
Letitia L. Moffitt Read, read, read. Think. Be curious about the world and its people. Be interested in the possibilities of expression through language. Then read some more.
