Inspiration strikes while I'm reading, listening to music, watching movies or just thinking about my draft. Sometimes inspiration just shows up when you sit down, read a few previous chapters, and then start typing.

If I have writer's block, sometimes it helps to take a break and come back to it later. Also listening to music and thinking in the shower tends to spark some inspiration. Sometimes, I just have to keep thinking, working, and writing until I come up with another idea. It's never easy, but I always find my way around the block.

I'm currently working on transferring all of my poetry from Hubpages.com to Poetry.com. The hubpages website basically shut down. You can still read an archive of my work here: https://hubpages.com/@ebower.
You can see my profile at poetry.com here: https://www.poetry.com/user/463335/Eb...
Next, I'm contemplating a return to the rough draft (that I barely began) of the sequel to No One. No promises, but hopefully my work on that book will begin soon!

Start writing. If you're an aspiring writer, I assume you have read a lot and want to become a writer of books yourself. Instead of reading books about writing, just start writing something. It could be a poem, short story, or a full book. I believe the best way to learn how to write is by doing it. After you finish a first draft, then you can research more on how to write, edit, publish or self-publish your book (and, of course, market it, too). Begin; it's a wonderful journey!

The best part about being a writer is being able to let your imagination run wild. I love creating characters and orchestrating reader's experiences from my creative brain.
