I started thinking about Grey Rain because I kept coming back to two things: environmental pollution, and how the recent pandemic showed just how much everyday life depends on systems we usually don’t think about until something goes wrong.
That made me wonder what would happen if the environment changed suddenly and severely enough that the systems we rely on—water, transport, supply chains, public services—could no longer keep up.
From there, I became interested in a much simpler question: what would ordinary people actually do? How would they find water, food, and shelter, make decisions together, and keep going when the systems around them were gradually breaking down?
Grey Rain grew out of that question.
