As I write children's book, being incredibly silly unlocks the blocks. Once I sat with my two daughters (then aged 3 and 8) wearing a sock puppet and the girls asked me questions about my new book and where I was stuck. Sock puppet came up with some brilliant answers and in my head door after door was unlocked, as the cul-de-sac opened up right up to the end of the story.

I read Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman about 30 years ago... and have just recently gone back to it. Before that was an excellent read The Way of All Flesh by Ambrose Parry.
