I wish there was an easy answer to this. I've experienced writer's block a couple of different times and all I can offer is don't push it. If you push yourself to write what you aren't able to write, then you deepen the break. Move onto something else. Read a book. Take a break. It will come back and the voices won't stop talking.

I like to think we don't answer to anyone. Our stories are our own and it is up to us if we change them or not. There are a great many opinions, but in the end, you have the power to put out something meaningful to you. I love my readers as well. I've met so many great people--authors, bloggers and readers. They inspire me to do better and be better.

Don't give up and don't take "no" for an answer. I've been so fortunate as to reach authors who aren't opposed to sharing their secrets of success. For that I am ever so grateful and remain humble in my own career. I'll do whatever I can to help and I think that creates community. As large as this industry is you can never have enough friends. Just continue to do "you" and protect your voice.

I am currently working on Chasing Taryn, the second book in the Levi and Taryn series. I hope to have it published on May 24. The series is a clean, young adult romance inspired by western Nebraska and South Dakota. I also wanted to reach out to a younger age group in hopes of captivating them to want to read. One book can make the difference in a life long reader.

There isn't much that doesn't inspire some sort of thought in a book. I listen to music, talking to people, past experiences, and sharing my home in stories. In every book that I've written and continue to write, there are very personal experiences shared. I'd like to think as an author, I open myself up to the reader without them really knowing it.
