Animal Alphabet Search was a book I wanted to write years ago but it's only in the last couple of years that I've been able to study illustrations, software and techniques and get the book completed.

I get ideas from everywhere but mostly when I'm with my grandkids and we are making up stories together.

I have a few books I'm working on at the moment.
'My Dinosaur is ALIVE!' is about a dinosaur that jumps right out of a colouring book and causes mayhem.
I'm working on a book for children who are having to visit Hospital for serious illnesses. My own grandson has recently been diagnosed with JIA (Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis) and he is only 5 years of age. I see how frightened he is but how brave he is as well and want to write a book about dealing with injections etc so that children/parents can understand a little bit more and hopefully not be so scared. It's a very traumatic time for everyone concerned, most of all the young children.

To read, read, read, read and then read more! The internet is a great resource and writers like myself are always there if you need to ask a question. I don't mind helping anyone who is determined and positive enough to make writing a full-time job.

I visit schools when I get the chance and there's nothing more fulfilling than having a young child say how much they enjoyed your book.

I must be very lucky as I've never had writer's block. I have loads of ideas in my head and I get frustrated by not being able to get them written up as soon as I can!
