With difficulty. I had never believed in writer's block, but it does in reality crop up now and again. Running used to do it but with an injury that's not possible these days. Mostly I let it roll around in my head for a while and something will pop up.

It sounds simplistic and even a bit condescending, but it's not the latter. You need to follow the old Nike dictum: Just do it. Call up a blank Word document, type in Chapter 1, and then start clicking away. There's no magic formula. It's hard work.

I have a couple of things going, both of which will go under the banner of Rocky Mountain Lawmen. (There are four of those: Sheriff's Blood, Blood in the Snow, Vigilante Coffin and Shoshoni Vengeance.)

As with most writers, I have to write. Part of the DNA, I guess. Sometimes it takes a bit to get rolling on a particular book, but once I get into it, it usually moves along.

This is always a tough question to answer. Ideas come from anywhere. Or nowhere. :) A line in a nonfiction book, a place, or just out of the ether.
