I absolutely loved your Trelian series! Calen and Meg were amazing main characters, and I really appreciated and admired the masterful way you developed their characters and wrote the alternating points of view. Do you have any tips on how to write unique character voices and points of view? Also, what would be your advice in general to aspiring authors? Thank you so much for a wonderful and enjoyable trilogy!
Michelle Knudsen Hi Mary. I'm so glad you enjoyed the Trelian books! Thanks for your questions, too. I'm not sure I can fully answer them in this space, but I think the best tip I have for writing alternating POV is to spend time getting to know each character as well as you can. Really try to envision how things would look through their eyes, how they'd feel and think about everything that happens to them. No two people are going to react or feel exactly the same way, and those differences help define who they are. My general advice to aspiring authors is to read as much and as widely as possible, and to keep writing - the only way to get better at writing is to do a lot of it.

I really enjoyed your Trelian books. Do you plan to write any more middle grade and juvenile fiction books in the future?
Michelle Knudsen Hi Mary! I'm sorry not to have answered this sooner - I don't seem to be getting my Goodreads notifications. Anyway I do hope to write more MG fantasy in the future! Right now I'm finishing up my YA trilogy, and then I'll be on to something new. :)

My name is Annie and I was wondering if you knew when the book after the princess of trelian is supposed to come out? It was amazing and I am just dying to read the next one! :)
Michelle Knudsen Hi Annie! The next Trelian book is alllllmost done. Right now it's scheduled for Feb 2016. I'm sorry it's still so far away! Part of that is because I wrote another novel (my YA book Evil Librarian) in between writing the second and third Trelian books; part of it is because of publishing schedules and the amount of time it takes for production and covers and all those other things. :) Thanks so much for writing to let me know you liked the last book!

Hi Michelle! I'm a YA Librarian who totally loved Evil Librarian! I'm wondering if there will be a sequel/series coming? Cyn still needs to visit the demon world 2 more times, right? My fingers are crossed that we get to read more about her!

Please, please tell me that the description of the Books of Darkness store in "Evil Librarian" was a purposeful use of D&D style flavor text! It tickled me so much I was forced to read the passage out loud to my geeky friends. I cannot wait to get this book into the hands of YAs and several adults.
Michelle Knudsen I love this question! I will admit that I think it snuck into the first draft under my conscious radar, but I really liked it when I realized I'd written it that way and kept it in as a tiny nod to my D&D days. I love that you saw it!! :)
