Writer's block is a vicious animal and music soothes the savage beast. I have certain music I listen to when it's stalking me. Three songs in particular and I call them my 3G's of writing, all by the same artist. I recently purchased live versions and though I don't start writing again every time I don't feel as bad about it. The words come again eventually. Like love, sometimes it's after you stop looking.

Knowing other people are out there and, hopefully,meeting the same pictures I saw when I wrote the book is one of the most phenomenal feelings. I call it "geeking out" and feel 10 feet tall.

Even if you aren't putting words on the page you can still write. While you're washing the dishes play scenarios through your head, look for the weak points in dialogue. I have found the story is always there even when writer's block is taking a stab at my confidence.
