Violet Gregory I'm a huge fan of chick-lit, but I also like my romances pretty steamy. I could never find enough books that had both an interesting storyline and genuinely erotic sex scenes, so I decided to start writing them myself. I have also lived in a polyamorous relationship for most of my adult life, and I wanted to write a story that was a bit more challenging than the standard love triangle, where the female protagonist has to choose between two guys. The Butterfly series is a bit more complex than that, and I hope readers will find Georgia's dilemmas and her ultimate decisions a refreshing change to what they are used to (and the sexy bits more ... sexy).
Violet Gregory I just have ideas floating around in my head all the time. But I do scribble in notebooks and make spreadsheets and timelines to bring order to those ideas. That also makes it easier on days when I might be feeling a little less inspired, as I have something to refer to and remind me of where I'm heading.
Violet Gregory I'm currently working on book 3 in my Butterfly series - it's called Butterfly Tempest; and it's even more steamy, and the relationships become more challenging and unconventional than in the first two books.
Violet Gregory There is only one thing you need to do to be a writer, and that's .... write! Do it every day, even when you don't feel like it or you think what you're writing is terrible. As long as you are writing, you're a writer and eventually you will finish whatever it is you're working on.
Violet Gregory I can work anytime day or night (I'm very nocturnal); and I can sit in my sleeping bag, with my cat on my lap.
Violet Gregory Once I sit down to write, I rarely have a problem with writer's block. I have lots of ideas running through my head all the time - my biggest problem is finding enough time to get them all written! I often write myself notes about upcoming scenes or chapters, so I don't forget them before I get to writing them.
