Alexa Mackintosh Being a writer is a strange and wonderful job. The best things about being a writer are I get to build worlds and create lives while sitting on the couch in my pajamas. Also, weird research and daydreaming are just part of the job description.
Alexa Mackintosh I've found the best thing for writer's block is to work on two manuscripts or projects at once. When I'm stuck on one novel, I can write on the other and not waste any time.
If you only work on one project at a time, try to step back for awhile. If you are crunched for time, try adding a new subplot or go back and edit what you have already written.
Alexa Mackintosh My advice is simple. Never give up as a writer and keep dreaming even when people negatively critique your writing. Being a writer is grueling and time consuming. Write everyday and try to improve with everything you write. I've also found blog posts by other writers helpful in solving a number of my writing problems, so I suggest reading as many posts as you can.
