Sorry, I missed this question! Way late to reply, but with the acquisition of the series by Orbit, We Lie With Death will be out January 2021, with books 3 and 4 currently planned to follow in the same year.

Thank you, I'm so glad you loved it! 1) I pronounce it as "Chill-tay" (but you can say it however it worked best for you!) and 2) It means I get paid an advance up front, I don't have to do ALL the marketing myself, and the books will be fully distributed to bookstores, which is super exciting. As for effects on the books themselves, I re-edited We Ride the Storm and the whole prequel trilogy for rerelease, and the second book, We Lie With Death will be out in January with the others following soon after.

There are quite a few differences between the original self-published version and the new version put out by Orbit. There are three new chapters (including the first, as you probably noticed), some alterations to the way the political arc works, deeper world-building regarding Levanti society, and changes to one very important relationship. If you're able to get the new version I do highly recommend it, as the next book will follow more cleanly from the new one.

Nope! Though the stories do follow on from one another I deliberately wrote it so that you can enter the story at either The Blood of Whisperers or We Ride the Storm. Depending on the way you do so you get a different experience but I wouldn't say one is necessarily better or worse, just different! I generally say to people, read the one that calls to you :)

Four! If that changes it will be adjusted down to three rather than up. Currently Book 2 - We Lie with Death - is scheduled for March 2019.
