P.M. Briede Patricia, in the beginning my ideas were all dreams that I futzzed around with and developed into full storylines. Now, I get inspiration from the world around me. Underground was inspired by the underground tour in Seattle. The series I'm releasing in 2016 was inspired by the New Orleans cemeteries. Just little things really.
P.M. Briede I honestly never did, Amy. And while they aren't in brick and mortar stores currently, just having the in the hands of relative strangers is crazy. Then to have those strangers reach out because they loved them and become friends, crazier still.
P.M. Briede That's a hard one for me to answer, but in all honesty I'd probably go an elf. Not to be confused with a gnome or a Keebler elf, but cool Tolkien elf. I have no desire to live forever or really have magical powers or super strength. While I don't mind reading about shape-shifters, the idea of actually doing it kind of creeps me out. But a long life, and immense wisdom, that appeals to me.
P.M. Briede I'm not exactly sure how best to answer that, Paula. I don't write to teach but to entertain. My books meld fantasy and reality, in what I hope is an artful approach that is unique.
P.M. Briede The freedom to get to live the lives you aren't able to lead. As a writer, I can do anything and be anyone. It's a secondary life.
P.M. Briede Right now I'm taking a breather. My second series, The Empathy Delacroix Series, set in Manhattan, about a empath and a detective who meet over a crime scene, has been submitted to my publisher.

I just closed out my WIP novel, The Underground, set in Seattle, about a journalist who stumbles upon a community of people living in the underground city.
P.M. Briede The Charlotte Grace Series stemmed first from a dream I had of the ending about five years ago. I woke up and thought it would be a cool book but at the time had no desire to be it's author. Over the years the idea wouldn't let me go and after a couple of personal tragedies I sat down and started writing just as a form of emotional release. I wrote about my friends and events from my life and Smoldering Embers, Wild Fire, and Ashes were born.
