Michele Summers Hey Tonya...my favorite reader!!! Hope you had a great holiday and hoping for a wonderful 2019! To answer your question: yes! But only snippets of people and family I know. No character has been written exactly as someone I know. But a friend/acquaintance/family member will come to mind and I'll use some of their mannerisms or emotions, etc. It's almost impossible not to! But I have to say, it sometimes makes my friends/family nervous!! Hmmmm, and what do they have to be so nervous about, I wonder???? LOL! LOVE YOU and thanks for the question. I promise I'm working on the next book and hope to have it out in 2019!
Michele Summers JenniK: Thank you so much for reaching out! I'm beyond thrilled you loved Sweet Southern Trouble (the first book I ever wrote!) I would LOVE to write a sequel, especially about Beau, but unfortunately, it's not totally up to me but up to my publisher and it doesn't look like it will be happening. However, I'm writing a brand new book that will hopefully be coming out in 2019. Look for another fun story taking place in small town NC! Thank you again. You made my Christmas! xoxo
Michele Summers I'd love my books to be turned into movies too, so to help speed up the process...I'd cast Ali Landry as Katie and Eric Decker as Vance. Check them out online and I'll bet you'd agree. Thanks for asking and keep reading.
Michele Summers Wow! Good question and very hard to decide. Besides Vance and Katie, Bertie and Keith and Brogan and Lucy from my own series. ;-))) I'd have to say, SEP's Bobby Tom Denton and Gracie Snow in Heaven, Texas, because I love an athlete alpha-hero and the whole opposites attract trope. And these two were complete opposites in a very funny way. If you haven't read this one from SEP, give it a try.
Michele Summers Hey Emily S:
Thanks for asking and I'm sorry my books are so far apart, but the next one is coming out Dec 2016 and it's about Vance Kerner (good friend of Brogan's; makes a couple of appearances in NSNIT) and Katie McKnight from California. Vance is on deadline to finish a series while babysitting his brother's young kids and Katie stumbles upon Harmony and Vance's farmhouse and knows it will be the perfect setting for a new TV series her dad wants to produce. And yep, promises are made like: Katie will babysit the kids if Vance agrees to let her use the house...It's my fave so far. Hope you'll take the time to read it! Thanks again for inquiring.
Michele Summers I haven't at this point made any plans for Gary. Even though I do love him as a character because he reminds me of so many great friends and designers I've worked with in the past. And yes, I'm glad Gail found her HEA as well. She was so sweet and really...Keith would've been all wrong for her! LOL! Thanks for your question and I hope you'll read Lucy and Brogan's story in Not So New In Town...releasing July 7th! *yay*
Michele Summers From my sister who wrestled her kids for years... I would laugh at all her funny stories and my girlfriends going through the same thing.
Michele Summers Listening to conversations...uh, yea, eavesdropping...a lot. Then take snippets of the conversations and expand them until I've created new characters and situations in my head. The key is to write all down quickly so I don't forget it!
Michele Summers Katie and Vance's story...the third book in the Harmony Homecomings Series. California Katie stumbles upon Harmony while scouting locations for a mini-series for TV and Vance needs a built-in babysitter so he can finish writing his next thriller. Will Katie convince Vance to turn his farmhouse into a home for teenage vampires? And will Vance finish his third book in his bestselling series before losing his mind and his heart to Katie?
Michele Summers Write and write some more. Listen and learn. Develop a thick skin. And make the changes necessary to make it better. And then learn how to run your own business because that's what you'll be doing if you want to be published.
Michele Summers Setting you're own schedule. Writing in your PJ's. Creating worlds you want to live in. It's awesome!
Michele Summers I live in denial... a lot! I keep telling myself it's not writer's block but procrastination. (which is partially true). But usually I force myself to get in the zone and write even if it's going to get deleted; it's words on a page and eventually it will come together.
