Be brave, be fearless. And just write! Don't say things like, "I'm thinking about writing a book" or "I'd like to write a book one day." If you do, you will never do it, you will only ever be thinking about doing it. Start by writing a paragraph, maybe describing a place or a character's physical qualities--anything to get you in the groove of writing. You may do this over and over again until you find something that works, but that's okay. I had many false starts before my novel came together. It's all part of the process. And if the doubts come up--and they will!--mentally send them on their way. Just let go of that nonsense. And do not give up. If writing is your dream, go after it. You deserve it. You can do it.
