Jill Barry Hi Karen, I'm so sorry I didn't respond to your question. I took a long absence from goodreads but I hope to update my publication record as soon as possible. So glad you enjoyed 'Puppy Love'. Take care.... Jill x
Jill Barry Sarah, I apologise for the delay in answering but will try my best to help. Firstly, you obviously have a very active imagination and that is good news from a writing point of view. I don't know if you have ever written a short story or something longer but it seems you've identified a problem which you feel is hindering you. Many writers carry notebooks around, even a tiny one will do! If an idea catches you unawares, maybe you could mentally tag it with a name, e.g. coffee shop, leisure centre, museum, etc - or identify your character so you remember the idea as Katie's lost train connection or Guy's speeding ticket. I hope this helps! Good luck and thanks for calling.
Jill Barry I never sit, staring at a blank page. Don't do it. Go away and find something else to occupy you.

Jill Barry I'm inspired by life in general - mine and other people's. Also by ideas that float in on the wind like Joanne Harris' character in the book and film Chocolat.
Jill Barry It's a Christmas theme this time and I'm approaching it from an unusual angle so crossing fingers that this idea will really work!
