I travelled to Australia with my family as a child. I remember clinging to the rails of the ship and watching the coast of England disappear until all I could see was ocean. That memory sparked a thought about a young woman emigrating to Australia in the 1850's. Emmigrating and getting herself involved in spiritualism, odd disappearances and murder.

To write. And keep writing. To get the first draft done, then edit it until it's good enough to send to a professional editor. Go without smokes or wine if you need to (but keep some chocolate on hand) - a good professional editor is worth going without for!
