Jaclyn Lewis I don't force myself to write when I have nothing to say. Usually, if I wait a day or two it will pass and I can get back to it with renewed excitement.
Jaclyn Lewis It has brought me into "the great conversation" of centuries of stories told. Even if my books are never more than a blip on the screen of that conversation, I'm a part of it now. Words on paper are the best way for me to share what's in my heart.
Jaclyn Lewis Keep going! You'll make mistakes every step of the way and learn something with every book you write. It will make you better. Jaclyn Lewis Usually I have ideas for a few different stories rolling around in my head. When I get the time and motivation, I make a lot of coffee and start typing.
Jaclyn Lewis The inspiration for my most recent book (Mercy for the Serpent) was really just emotions I have experienced in my own life coupled with the influences of C.S. Lewis' Space Trilogy. I love allegorical stories and the protagonist's struggle between guilt and forgiveness is something I felt like a lot of people could relate to.
