I have been blessed with extraordinary good luck in life, and my life abounds in synchronicities. Sometimes fact is stranger than fiction! The plot would make for a good novel.

Write about my mood. Write about how I feel. Get it out of my system, so to speak. Sometimes I write a summary of my day. Sometimes I just have a good moan. If I can't get into the right frame of mind for working on my next book, I just write about the banal stuff that happens. It's therapeutic. It's like a way of saying "I might have writer's block, but that ain't going to stop me from writing".

For me it's following my bliss. It's what I always wanted to do. Writing about the things that inspire me brings me awe.

Write. Don't just talk about it or think about it. Write. Even if you don't like what you've written. Get into the habit. Turn off that TV or laptop or smartphone. Take out some paper (if you're old fashioned like me) or your computer and write/type. Don't let Google and social media distract you. Make a little bit of time every day for writing. Get good at it. Make it a habit. Write every day and you can call yourself a writer.

The place that gives me most inspiration is the Boyne Valley. The ancient myths and monuments are the primary source of what flows through me onto paper.
