There are several things which help inspire me to write, the primary being my dreams. I have very vivid dreams and tend to remember them for days or weeks afterward. The Midnight to Morning series is actually written out of a series of dreams I've had about the main character. Another inspiration to write is the online MMORPG I play (Star Trek Online.) I find roleplaying as an excellent outlet for creativity, especially as one of the Storymasters. It is a fun way to test out concepts and really get into the head of a character. My blog series "History of a Halfbreed" is based off of that. The final inspiration is reading the works of other indie authors!

I'm currently working two projects. The first is book 3 in the series, and it is going great! The words are flying from my head to the computer quickly, and I look forward to being able to release it much faster than book 2. The other project is a fanfiction series of short snippets called "History of a Halfbreed." It's the story of my main character in Star Trek Online, starting from her birth to current time. Eventually, I'll flesh it out into a novella, but for now it is something fun to have on my blog.

"Sunrise to Shadows" is part 2 in a four-book series. The ideas originally came from a series of intense dreams I had, and my imagination ran with it from there.

I go back and re-read the past few chapters, then grab a piece of paper and just let my thoughts wander to what could happen not next, but further into the story. If that doesn't help, a break in writing or focusing on a different writing task can help. Talking it over with a friend or family member sometimes helps too. They tend to ask enough questions or challenge me enough to get ideas flowing again.
