Jon Colson I have studied the US Constitution and other founding documents, as well as the journals of the founders and the ratification documents for around 20 years. During conversations about upcoming elections, I shared my knowledge more and more and seemed to become the go-to guy for many with their questions on the Constitution. It was there that I learned how far off base so many were about the US Constitution. I read other books about the Constitution and realized that, for the most part, they were just writing the misrepresentations that are taught in public school. Few people understand how simple and brilliant the US Constitution is. I found that I had to share.
Jon Colson Life likes to get in the way of writers. We tend to let other things that pop up go in front of writing. I put writing in my calendar every day when I am in town and every other day when I am not. I will not schedule another appointment where my writing is scheduled.

Then, even when I really do not feel like writing, I just start typing. Pretty soon, I discover that I am glad that I set a timer or hours would pass. Once I get started, the writing is its own inspiration.
Jon Colson I am currently writing a sequel to my book, "If Your Product Sells Itself, Shut UP!" It is titled, "You're Still Talking?"

I am also working on a book on business networking. The working title is "Networking 601: Mastery"
Jon Colson So many want to write, but do not know where to start. I say, start with the habit of writing. Put time in your schedule as a recurring appointment to write, and put time in your schedule to read. Both are important to writing. Read from your genre, but also read and learn about marketing your book. No matter which publishing route you take, you are the most crucial part of your book sales.
Jon Colson As a non-fiction writer, it is sharing what I have learned. When people ask questions or share what they learned from my books, it is very exciting and humbling.
Jon Colson I am not the best person to ask this one. I have not experienced writer's block yet.
