Cherie Lowe The concept has been floating in our heads since 2015! We noticed our own ability to better communicate in other areas of our marriage after we endeavored paying off $127k in debt. We dove into the research to see what others were experiencing when it comes to sex and money in marriage and the results were eye opening.
Cherie Lowe We have a new book coming out September 25th - Your Money, Your Marriage: The Secrets to Smart Finance, Spicy Romance, and Their Intimate Connection. It centers on a concept we call Financial Foreplay - the idea that when you get your junk together with finances, other pieces *ahem* fall into place, too. This work is co-authored with my husband Brian, a family law attorney of 15+ years and my co-debt slayer of over $127k.
Cherie Lowe Quit making excuses. There's never going to be an optimal time to write or blog or freelance. You simply need to begin, no matter how awful the first draft or post is. Secondly, find people who are smarter than you to ask questions. There's nothing new under the sun. Find someone who is where you are and politely ask them how they got there. Be gracious and kind and they'll probably be willing to share insights with you.
Cherie Lowe I LOVE my audience. So when a reader connects with me and shares that my words have brought them joy or encouragement or a helpful hint, it brings me such life and renews my purpose.
Cherie Lowe Is it bad that I had a little bit of writer's block just answering this question? I procrastinate more than I'd like to admit but sometimes I work out ideas while doing other things. Going for a run usually disconnects me from technology enough that I can begin to think through new concepts and ideas. Having a well mapped article, chapter, or book also keeps writer's block at bay. However, sometimes you just have to sit down and do the work.
