Holly Bodger Sorry, I don't have a date yet. There will definitely be one. I've already written it, but need to find time to polish (and I'm finishing another project first!)
Holly Bodger Summer is usually when I finally have time to catch up on a lot of reading, so I'm hoping to finish the Throne of Glass series and read the ACOTAR ones. I'd also like to read Mortal Instruments (I know...I know...How have I NOT read those yet???)
Holly Bodger Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy [Pride and Prejudice].

I love Elizabeth because she's smart and strong, and doesn't let money or status influence her choices. I love that she reads books and gets mud on her dress, and yet is still the one who attracts the most eligible bachelor in town.

I love Darcy because he's fiercely loyal to the people he loves. He's also a little shy and awkward which I prefer to the typical "flawless" hero.

As a couple, I think they're perfect because she needs someone to show her that her prejudices against the rich are wrong, and he needs someone to knock his pride down a level.

P.S. My current favorite "modern" couple is Celaena & Sam [Throne of Glass series].
Holly Bodger Definitely! It is actually on the LYRA list for these grades specifically: https://www.state.lib.la.us/literacy-...
Holly Bodger Yes, definitely, but I don't have a publication date yet. :-(
Holly Bodger Thanks Emma! Yes, I am working on more books. One will be the sequel to 5 TO 1, but the others are unrelated.
Holly Bodger I definitely would like to publish another book in this world, although I'm not sure if it will be a sequel or companion (or both!)
Holly Bodger UPDATED RESPONSE: I've now released a free novella from Surina's perspective. You can download it from http://hollybodger.com/the-other-one/

Asha's story will be covered in the sequel (out later this year).

Holly Bodger Aw thanks, Priya!

The characters are completely fictional. When I create my book bible (which is basically a book with notes & pictures for all of my characters, buildings, food, customs, clothes etc...) I choose pictures from the internet for each of my characters because I need to see their faces when I write. Sudasa (the main female character) was not based on anyone famous, but Kiran (the main male character) was based on a young Shahid Kapoor. The picture I used is on my Pinterest account at https://www.pinterest.com/hollybodger...
Holly Bodger Find a routine that works for you and stick to it, no matter how hard it is. Publishing is a hard business. If you want to be in it for the long haul (and believe me, it IS a long haul!), you need to find a way to keep writing no matter how hard it is or how many distractions attempt to sidetrack you.
Holly Bodger I have plans to post a sample from 5 TO 1 but have not done so yet. I will update this question when it's available!
Holly Bodger I was at work one day and came across this article called, "The consequences of son preference and sex-selective abortion in China and other Asian countries" (http://www.cmaj.ca/content/183/12/137...). I'd always been interested in the treatment of girls around the world, but when I read this article, it really struck me. I immediately started to imagine what life might be like for girls in the future--when the tables are turned--and the story just came to me. I know that sounds a little like lightning striking but that's how it happened!
