Emma South Hi Mindy, sorry for taking so long to answer this, I was away from home when I saw the question and it slipped my mind when I returned a week ago.

Emma South Hi Stephanie,

There aren't any characters named Oliva or Olivia in the book, so I'm thinking you must be referring to Harper :)

Harper's mother was an aspiring actress herself and was auditioning for a role as the witch in Princess Sundancer, but ultimately didn't get it. The film was made and didn't do very well, but was remade with a different cast and director shortly afterwards, and it was in *that* movie that Harper landed the lead role of Princess Sundancer.

Reference: “So a few years go by and, hey, why not audition for Princess Sundancer? They’re remaking this movie that flopped a while back, what’s the worst that can happen? Every seven-year-old girl wants to be a fairy princess, right?” - Harper Bayliss - The Last Thing You See :)

Emma South By just being excited about the stories I'm trying to tell.
Emma South I just finished a novel called The Last Thing You See, I'm working on getting it out to as many readers as I can. Then I'll work on the outline for the next story.
Emma South Write as much as you can. Publish as much as you can. Perfection is the enemy of finished. Write the highest quality you can, but make sure you don't do the modern electronic equivalent of letting your manuscript gather dust while you debate the merits of every comma placement in every sentence. Story is king.
Emma South The best thing is that as long as I'm sharing stories, it makes me feel like I'm keeping a very important promise I made. When people send me messages about how my stories affected them, how they laughed, cried, mourned and fell in love along with my characters, I feel like I'm doing something very special.
Emma South I blast through it like it ain't no thang. Er... to be honest I haven't ever experienced a terrible episode of it. There are days when I sit there looking at the blinking cursor for a while, but the hardest part is just starting. If I can at least start, I can usually get several hundred words out on even my least productive days. As long as you write something, you'll get to the end of the story sooner or later.
