Pablo Greene I don't think one can be prescriptive about writing. What's worked for me is to treat it as a skill that has to be honed over a lifetime, instead of weeks, months or years. Learning about what makes a book successful has also taken me a long time to learn, and I constantly try to find veterans whose opinions I respect. In short, I try to learn and develop myself. I don't think this is advice, but I have seen results.
Pablo Greene Firstly, being able to write, and to develop that skill over a lifetime. Secondly, talking to my readers about the stories in my books and short stories. I love my readers.

Pablo Greene By reading a lot. I was a reader before I was a writer (I started writing at age 12), and reading lots and lots of non-fiction helps inspire me. I am also inspired by great film making. Not always for story, but often for visual storytelling inspiration.
Pablo Greene Book 3 in the Gold Apocalypse series (which some readers know as the How to Kill a Superhero series).
Pablo Greene I don't. If I only wrote when I felt "inspired," I couldn't write a book a year. When I sit down, I make myself write, rewrite and edit. Even on days when it's torture! Coffee and mineral water help a lot.
