Carl England Writer's block? What's that? Oh, you want an honest answer. If I am stumped for the next line to write, I write anyway. Sometimes I write very well when I think I have writer's block. Usually I write junk but it does allow me to get on to the next chapter. I do make certain that I go back and reread the junk every few days. Eventually the junk will resolve itself into a usable chapter. Sometimes some creative editing will repair the junk and sometimes it must be scrapped and replaced by a totally new twist of the plot. My best advice for anyone with writer's block is to write.
Carl England I am doing what I enjoy. I have always been a writer, even in grade school. Okay, I wasn't a good writer back then, but I still enjoyed writing. I am getting better. I finally got a small traditional publisher to accept one of my books. But I would write even if there was no possibility of publishing because I really enjoy writing.
Carl England Write! That's the short answer. A longer answer (but still brief) is write something that you would want to read.
Carl England I have a sequel (planned to be the second book of three) to Alphabet Soup named Code Breaker that I have submitted to my publisher (fingers crossed.) I am currently working on a book (not in the Alphabet Soup series) about a couple, pretending to be private investigators, who have been hired to recover 5 million dollars that was stolen from a business. The business has not contacted the police about the theft for reasons that they refuse to discuss. The chase turns out more than the couple bargained for.
Carl England I am compelled to write. It is something that I find I must do.
Carl England I once belonged to one of the government's "Alphabet" agencies. Many of the operations carried out by these agencies are strictly on a "need to know" basis. What I have written about is a fictional mission by one of these agencies. (Some events and places may not be fictional, but I would never admit it to anyone without security clearance and the need to know.)
