Muffin has been a character in my head for over 20 years ... I nursed Muffin and watched him die ... as I held his damaged body, I would talk to him about why he should fight, why he should live, how much joy his future held ... When I saw Steelwhisper's prompt on the LL prompt list, Muffin cried "daddy!" ... you'll have to read it to see what happens next ;)

This is impossible to answer ... I just think I was born a story teller ... I see things around me everyday and want to share the laughter, the tears, the inspiration ... I can't not be inspired.

This is a tricky question to answer ... I have the attention span of a gnat and as soon as I clear a space in my head, someone else takes up residence asking for his/her story to be told! ... my current WIP with at least 3,000 words written are:
1. A shifter spoof featuring a werekoala.
2. A 5 - book series exploring sexuality and disability ... A Daddy for Muffin (prologue available in the Queermance Volume 2 anthology) is the first in the series and will be joined by other characters who all have physical issues that impact on their sexuality ... there will be lots of kinky fuckery and I hope, a growing empathy for those who's appearance isn't 'normal'.
3. The Lennox Boys (Weekend in Lennox and Leaving Home) are being expanded and linked to William's Whimsy with at least 2 other books which will explore some light-hearted and not-so light-hearted subjects ... to reassure, everyone gets a HEA ... eventually!
4. I have also partially written 2 murder mysteries ... I may end up using them in other stories instead of continuing because they aren't clamouring for completion at the moment.
5. My final WIP is very dark and hard to write ... domestic violence is something I have intimate knowledge of and this story gets written when I need to purge the memories ... It may never be published, but it is cathartic to write.
In addition to all of the above, I inherited a number of manuscripts from my mother who, although never published, was a prolific writer ... I'm intending to re-work and publish some of her stories so her life and successes are never forgotten.

My advice would be ... write what you want to read.
For advice about the mechanics of the craft, I'd recommend keeping a note book or something with you at all times ... jot down the random things that you think about, record the weird shit you see ... I'm a people watcher ... I'm always looking at people and thinking "What's your story?" ... be attentive to what's happening around you and write it down ... if you write, jot, doodle, map all the time, you'll be surprised to find a story emerging and then, they just kinda write themselves.

I have always been a story teller ... when ever I have someone to talk to, I regale them with anecdotes about my life, usually in a way that makes people laugh ... being able to share these stories, albeit written in a way to protect the innocent *cough* is wonderful ... I love to entertain, to make people laugh, to tilt my head and look at life so that the joy can be found in everything ... reading a review where someone tells me they laughed, cried or fell in love, that is special.

I haven't had to deal with writer's block yet ... my head is constantly busy and I tend to jot random stuff down to appease the voices (yes, I did make my therapist cry when I told her that) ... so, when I do have time to sit down and write, I have a pile of odd notes to stimulate the creative juices ... the nearest I've come to writer's block is when a publisher recently asked me to write a comedic adventure story with no sex ... although I failed to deliver the story, the up-side is I now have an additional 3 novellas partially written *face palm*
