Adrianne Brooks I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Because of the former publisher, none of my older books are available at the moment. Luckily, I've gotten the rights back to all of my backlog, and I'll be revamping each of the books (including The Dragon King and I and its sequels) and republishing each over the next two to three years. The ultimate goal is that in revamping the books, I can then set each up as a longer series instead of trilogies.
Adrianne Brooks Yes, that's me. I haven't updated my pages in a while since I've been focusing on ghostwriting books for clients for the last several years. That's changing now as I bring everything up to date. I'm not very active on facebook, though so you're more likely to find me on twitter, Instagram, and (soon) tiktok
Adrianne Brooks Not so much a mystery, but several years ago my brother went on a bank robbing spree that inspired the plot to the first book in the new series that I have coming out soon.
Adrianne Brooks As of right now I don't have any books i'm working on. I'm sort of taking a break at this point, but hopefully i'll be back to work soon enough.
Adrianne Brooks Just keep swimming honestly. People may not be 100% behind you but if you love it it's something you need to keep working on.

And read all the time. That's your version of research.

Also when you're telling a story, especially fiction, lie. Tell the biggest lie that you can possibly think of and then tell your story in such a way that it turns that lie into a reality.

Details are your friend. Show don't tell. Publishers like things like that. And after you're done writing make sure you have plenty of people read through it. It will give you an idea of how the public will perceive the book and beta readers also help catch mistakes that may have been missed during the proofreading process.

If you read my blog I post advice and stuff on there as well sometimes. You can find it here: http://adriannebrooks.com/

In the end the only thing you can do is write, write, and write some more. There are going to be days when you want to give up or days in which you think you're the worst writer in the world (I have those days too). You just have to ignore it though. Take a break if you need to but keep trying. Think of yourself as a stalker and your writing as the hot girl who keeps putting out restraining orders against you.

I don't really know if any of this helped, but hopefully it did and thanks for contacting me :)
