The Dreamwalker series began because I thought it would be great to take an ordinary young woman in modern society and give her extraordinary circumstances to have to deal with. In Quicksilver Dreams, Taylor Lane accidentally stumbles onto the ability to read minds and hop into others' dreams. Then she finds herself on another planet, which is freaky enough, but then there's a war where different nations have been fighting for generations. Each subsequent book shows another piece of the puzzle and takes another step toward finding peace.

Everyday life inspires me. People I meet, travel I've done, places I've gone, experiences I've had and continue to have all work to keep my brain actively creating scenarios and dialogue. Just paying attention to the world surrounding me is a rich experience.

Dreams of a Wild Heart is the third book of my Dreamwalkers series. Dr. Cecilia Bradford, ER doc, is kidnapped from Earth and taken to another planet. The people are in need and look to her for help. Tabron, her seemingly cold-hearted kidnapper warrior, has put his life on the line to protect her. She needs to find her way back to Earth before she loses her heart and doesn't want to leave

You have to keep plugging along. There are times when you want to hit delete and toss everything out the window, but you just have to hang in there. Writing is a solo sport, and it requires hours and hours of practice. You'll never write something perfectly the first, second, third time...and you may have to scrap whole scenes and start over, but that's what you have to do.

My imagination is a rich place to be. I am never alone because characters come to life in my head constantly. There are too many book ideas and not enough time in my life to write them all, but I keep track of everything that comes to mind. I have a notebook where I write all of my story ideas down.

As any writer will tell you, it can be very frustrating. It usually happens because I haven't done enough homework on my character(s) or the plot, and I need to go back and do some further development of one or both. Do they seem like real people? What are they motivated by? What are the internal battles they face? What is pushing against them externally? How are the characters handling these conflicts in their relationships with each other? Once I revisit this, I can usually get back on track.
