Vera Calloway Read, read, read. Write, write, write. I'm still aspiring, and those two are the pillars for any author.
Vera Calloway Whenever there's a lull in my day, or if I'm doing something as simple as biking or cooking, I have a place for my mind to wander to. Whether it's a book I'm writing or one in the future, the break from reality is wonderful. In addition, if anyone gets under my skin, I can just write them as a villain and exact my revenge.
Vera Calloway Honestly, I'm like a teenage boy sometimes in that get a writing hard-on for just about everything. Things I see when I'm stuck in traffic, MUSIC, weird conversations I overhear at Walmart.
Vera Calloway For "The Catfish", I got the idea thanks to a guy who went to my high school who lived his life online. He's a male model and apparently unaware of the dangers of internet predators, because there's not a single fact about himself he hid. A lot of the girls who messaged him, however, never got up the courage to go speak to him in person. While the premise and people are completely different in "The Catfish", I thought the idea of insecurity and the internet was interesting to explore.
Vera Calloway I'm working on "The Catfish"! I'm really excited about it!
Vera Calloway A steaming mug of coffee. But to be fair, that's how I deal with pretty much everything. Listening to certain music helps, too.
