Arlene Hittle I have to go with the obvious answer here: Rhett and Scarlett. They were/are perfectly matched.

However, I didn't always feel that way. The first time I read GWTW, in sixth grade, I was completely, head-over-heels in love with Ashley Wilkes. I wept with Scarlett when he married Melanie and pined with her throughout the war. Then I watched the movie version and the Ashley on-screen didn't match up with the hunk in my head. Rhett Butler, however, sparked my imagination ... and the love of bad boys that brought with it a new appreciation for Han Solo and his ilk.
Arlene Hittle Thanks for asking. I have a few more ideas percolating in my brain, including one that features Condors pitcher Luis, who you met in SLIDING INTO HOME, but nothing has been finalized yet.

My next book from Turquoise Morning Press is something completely different. Well, it's still romantic comedy and it's set in Arizona—but there's no baseball. BREAKING ALL THE RULES: A new (and some would say stupid) state law forces a by-the-book mental health facility administrator to go on the hunt for a Klingon interpreter. The free-spirited guy she hires makes it his mission to convince her some rules are meant to be broken.
Arlene Hittle Usually, I'm more of a pantser—I write by the seat of my pants, taking off in whatever direction the characters decide they want to go. (They're stubborn, and tend not to let me write unless I do their thing.) The one time I did complete extensive planning before I started writing, for NaNoWriMo 2010, I finished three days ahead of schedule with 3,000 extra words.
