D.E. Morris I view art that engages me - whether it be a movie, music, a television episode, a picture - viewing great art is infectious.
D.E. Morris First, I give myself permission to write garbage. Then, I write a sentence. I follow that with another sentence, and then I write one more. I find that the physical act of writing shakes loose and gets the creative flowing again.
D.E. Morris It's a sequel to my first novel. My first novel, "Aliens in the Gift Shop," introduced the reader to two alien scientists and Marcy (who is just your average Earthling). The sequel is the further adventures of those characters. (See the answer for "How I Got The Idea For My Most Recent Novel" for more teaser info!)
D.E. Morris I'm influenced by Steven Moffat's writing on Doctor Who - how he takes an innocuous item and looks at it in a completely different (and usually scary) manner. I wanted to do the same thing, and the idea came to me when I looked at a famous landmark from a different perspective.
