I got to an age when I looked behind me and thought "what the hell was that all about and what did it mean?" As I began to explore things, it became clear that what i really wanted to write about were things like the destructive power of highly conditional love for a child, the inherent risks that come with being a woman who refuses to comply to society's limitations, and the worth of promising myself, as a woman, that i would be the protagonist of my own life, not a supporting character.
