The best answer I can give is this: Write! Just do it. Give yourself permission to write it wrong. What this means is that put pen to paper and write your story until you have a rough first draft completed. For most new writers--the challenge is finishing a story. They get too caught up in the mechanics of writing and this distracts from the story. You can always fix this in the rewriting phase. Just write your story and definitely invest in your craft. Buy books on the craft of writing.

I've never had writer's block for which I'm very grateful. However, there are times when you just have to put the project you're working on aside--take a break from it. If you're struggling with ideas for a story--I suggest looking at pictures to see if they inspire something in you; come up with "what if" scenarios (this is what sparks my imagination.
