I lived my book from birth through the death of my alcoholic father; so I didn't have to search for the idea. After my father died amidst nursing home neglect and abuse, I felt driven to write our story, convinced that people should be aware of what really goes on in many nursing homes. I also wanted people to realize that inside an alcoholic is a person who is struggling to get free and is worthy of being loved.
