I have a few ways. Number one, listen to music. Number two, go for a walk. Number three, read your favorite book. It will remind you why you wanted to write in the first place.

I've always made up stories in my mind, but was inspired to write them down by my second grade teacher. She encouraged me to write even when I hated it (it made my hand hurt!) and here I am today.

I have had a lifelong love of anything paranormal, and I am also a fan of police procedural dramas on TV. Somehow, those two things meshed together to become "Stake-Out". I can't recall HOW I came up with the plot. It was just...there.
