Simple answer again: I WRITE. Sounds trite, but it's true. I just start writing down whatever comes into my head, and it doesn't have to be about the story I'm having trouble with. It could be about my walk along the river that morning, or a rambling to-do list. Sooner than later, the words become the story.

Being entertained by my characters. They often lead me in directions I hadn't imagined during the outlining stage. I become so immersed in their stories that hours and hours of writing will go by, and yet it feels like just minutes. Plus, I get to fall in love with a new hero every few months!

Simply this: WRITE
Margaret Kelly
I get inspired to write by WRITING. There are many times I get bogged down with things outside of my writing life, and I’m just not “feeling it.” Even in those times I’ve discovered that the moment I start writing—even if it’s just gobbledygook—my spirit starts to lift. Pretty soon, I’m lost to everything around me other than the words on the page.

Currently, I'm working on books 3 and 4 in my King's Valley series. For those not aware, I write as both Margaret Kelly and Margaret Desmond. Margaret Desmond writes “clean and wholesome” stories that her lovely 77-year-old mother can share with her friends without blushing. If you are a fan of Debbie Macomber, Betty Neels, or Rosamund Pilcher, I think you will enjoy those stories. Margaret Kelly sometimes goes behind the bedroom door. Although I don’t feel those scenes would fall into the triple-X category, they are spicy enough to be objectionable to anyone who doesn’t like descriptions of intimate lovemaking in their reading selections. I enjoy writing (and reading) both categories.
I've had another Margaret Kelly story in my head for some time, and it will be put on paper within the year. That story will be set in Montana. There may be a glimpse of Shane and Lucy!
