Ideas literally just pop into my head. However, when I trace back my thoughts I can see that I'm being influenced by what I'm reading, movies I've watched, newspaper articles and my own life. I often start with just a name or two and work from there. Sometimes I force myself to be inspired to write, because if you just sit around waiting to be inspired nothing gets done!

I'm working on a piece of writing that is different much of my other work in that it isn't speculative fiction. I've no idea where this idea will go but I'm enjoying writing it and investigating different points of view. The story is based in London and I'm not even sure yet whether it is a childrens/YA story or an adult one??? Time will tell!
I'm also working on a futuristic dystopian fantasy in a world where most of the people can't hear. This one has been put aside for a wee bit while I try to work out where it is going!
