Usually, I don't need inspiration, as most of ideas come to me in my dreams, my drive time, or when I am resting. My bigger problem is not having the time to write all the books I want to. When I do hit a roadblock with a storyline, my daughter and I go on spontaneous road trips and brainstorm together. She is my muse and has helped me write much of my series.

I have three books that are "complete" and available, but I haven't released them to the general public yet. One is the last part of my trilogy and two are based on real-life experiences, my first attempt at non-fiction.

As a writer, I can be true to myself. There is no other avenue in life in which I can be more honest and transparent with myself or others. When I write, I don't care what people think of me or how they view me. I experience a freedom I don't get anywhere else.

I take a step back from writing and immerse myself in other fun activities with family and friends. When I return, I am usually reenergized and ready to write again. My brain rarely shuts off, so I am seldom at a loss for words. I am always coming with new stories to write. The important task that works for me is to make sure I write down my thoughts when the inspiration hits me. Then I can come back to it later when I don't have as much to write about—when I do get a case of writer's block.
