Eleanor Glewwe This is such a broad question! :) I guess I would say write what makes you happy, try to push through and finish pieces you're writing (you can always go back later and flesh it out or cut it down!), and recognize that everyone's writing process is individual, so what works for someone else might not work for you, and it's fine to do what works best for you.

Hi, I just finished reading Sparkers (it was AWESOME, btw!), and I was wondering if you are going to write a second book?

Eleanor Glewwe I'm so glad you enjoyed Sparkers! There is a companion book, actually. :) It's called Wildings. It has a new main character, but some of the characters from Sparkers appear in it.

Hey, I just finished reading SPARKERS (loved it, btw!), and I was curious-- why did you give most of the characters Jewish names?

Eleanor Glewwe I'm so glad you liked it! My choice to use Jewish/Hebrew names was a purely aesthetic one, but since I made that decision I've had some other thoughts about it. I wrote about it a little bit in the blog posts below (there's a lot of other stuff in those posts too, so you have to wade a little bit!):

I was wondering if you have any story ideas such as characters, items, or places that you've thrown out or given up on that I can use for one of my stories? The story that I'm thinking of is about an island where all story bits end up if they are thrown out or given up on. I've asked other authors so I can get a variety and some truth to the story. It's fine if you don't want to share any. Thanks. ~Hannah

Eleanor Glewwe I don't think I do, since I don't tend to throw out or give up on anything, in case I might want to use it for something else someday. Your story idea sounds intriguing, though; good luck with it!

I just finished reading your book "Wildings" and I had just saw your book "Sparkers" and was surprised when I saw that Wildings is in a way a continuation of Sparkers when it comes to Marah Levi and what she does. When you first wrote Sparkers, did you plan on making a book like Wildings where there would be a different character living in the same world and soon the same city?

Eleanor Glewwe Not really! When I first wrote Sparkers, I had some ideas about what would happen to Marah in the future, but I hadn't planned on writing a book like Wildings, with a new main character from another city.

I read your book 'Wildings' a few months ago and I really liked it. I wanted to ask, was it was a challenge to come up with the politics in this book? Also, I know there was a companion book, Sparkers, but will there ever be a second book to Wildings, I would like to know more about Rivka and her brother.

Eleanor Glewwe I'm so glad you liked Wildings! Hmm, it wasn't too challenging to come up with the politics. One of the trickier parts was working out why different politicians would genuinely oppose the legislation that is debated toward the end of the book. For now, I don't have any plans to write a sequel to Wildings.
