"Deaf and Hearing Siblings in Conversation" was inspired by Paul Preston's "Mother Father Deaf." When I read it, I kept wondering why there wasn't the equivalent book about siblings. Preston's book only had the coda (child of deaf adult) perspective, but I wanted to present both the deaf and the hearing sibling perspectives. Therefore, I had to have a deaf colleague as a co-author and researcher. Marla Berkowitz was the perfect choice!!
