Always learning. Through writer's groups, webinars, workshops, how-to-books, etc., I'm always learning about my craft. Research for my stories often leads deeply into areas that fascinate me. Then there's the language, marveling at it, learning to use it correctly and to fashion it into something metaphorical and hopefully, original.

If I write myself into a corner and can't find the way out, I leave the writing for a day or two. All the while, my mind is working silently on a solution. It comes a day or two later. But isn't that the same for a life problem? Leave it for a while, then come back with a fresh view.
