The ideas really just sprang from the existing characters within the series. It's like the scenes play in your head and you have to write them down. They may weave together into a story and they may not, but you have to get it on paper.

Life inspires me. I have four kiddos and I'm a teacher, which provides a ton of material for humorous moments within my stories. Most of what I write about, I pull from personal experiences, but then I throw in some dramatic additions to make the stories interesting.

Read! Find a genre that you're interested in and read the stories that are there. You begin to get familiar with what flows well for readers, you understand the importance of pulling at the readers emotions, and you even begin to understand how the story should look structurally.
