Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Susan Chenelle The idea for Connecting Across Disciplines: Collaborating With Informational Text came from the feedback we were receiving when presenting our model for using informational text at workshops and conferences around the country. Teachers in all disciplines, particularly social studies and science, said they found our approach gave them the practical support they needed to feel confident in incorporating informational text into their curriculum, and thereby developing their students' disciplinary literacy and critical thinking skills.
