I'm an NFL football fanatic, so I said, hey, why not write a football romance! And then another, and another...

Don't wait for the muse. Write hard and often. No matter how bad or uninspired you think the writing is as you're doing it.

Getting to live with the characters you create in the worlds of your own design. I would bet most fiction authors are escapists at heart.

Lucky for me, I respond well to deadline pressure, so if I'm stuck, I put the book on pre-order for a real deadline and presto!
I'm all unblocked and writing like mad!

It would have to be the world of Game of Thrones. The series has me enthralled! I think I'd most want to visit whatever place John Snow finds himself!

It's more like my listening list since I'm more into audiobooks these days. Anything by Loretta Chase, Daniel Silva or Christopher Knopf are on my list--though I've already read or listened to just about everything they've written so far.
Hopefully these exceptional authors will come out with something new soon!

Hi Lis, I'm sorry the governor's mansion kicked you out of the story.
I actually knew there was no governor's mansion, but decided to use literary license and invent one for my fictional story.
I hope you enjoyed the story anyway.
After working in Boston for 20 years and loving the city, I tried to include other authentic details to make the story real.
Maybe I should include a note in the front of the story about taking that literary license.
Thank you for your comments.
Warm Regards,
Stephanie Queen

Hi Agnieszka,
The answer is NO, Beachcomber Trouble is an entirely different book from Beachcomber Baby. Please do not combine them.
Here's the list of the books in order, although they are not necessarily numbered as such on the book title because Amazon doesn't allow novellas in a series:
The Beachcombers – Prequel Edition
Beachcomber Investigations – Book 1
Beachcomber Santa – Novella – Book 2
Beachcomber Valentine – Novella – Book 3
Beachcomber Baby – Book 4
Beachcomber Trouble – Book 5
Beachcomber Heat – Book 6
Beachcomber Wedding – Book 7
Beachcomber Reckoning – Book 8
Let it Snow – Novella – Book 9
Falling for Captain Hunk – Novella Spinoff
Beachcomber Billionaire – Novella Spinoff
Beachcomber Test – Book 10 coming soon
I hope that helps!
Thanks, Stephanie Queen

Hi Agnieszka,
I apologize for the duplicate, but I changed the cover since it was originally listed.
Beachcomber Trouble and Beachcomber Wedding are different books. Beachcomber Trouble is book 3 and Beachcomber Wedding is book 5.
Beachcomber Heat is book 4.
I guess although I've updated the covers GR doesn't do that.
thank you so much for straightening my series order out!
Warm Regards,

Hi,
Beachcomber Santa is a novella and comes after book 1 and before Beachcomber Valentine.
Let It Snow is a novella and it's the last in the series--after Beachcomber Reckoning which is released on June 10th.
Sorry I wrote some of the books out of order!
thank you for asking and trying to fix.
I would have numbered the novellas, but Amazon won't let me use decimals!
Warm Regards, SQ

I have a few favorites. Naturally.
I love Scarlet O'Hara for her bold strength and Melanie for her surprising strength. Few fictional characters have been so well drawn as these and I think that's the reason Gone With the Wind is a timeless classic as well as a popular book.
I was fascinated with the character Lisbeth Salandar in Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, another complex character.
As for favorite male characters, in the relatively obscure novel, Dear and Glorious Physician by Taylor Caldwell, I adored the way she drew her fictional version of St. Luke.
That's it for today!

You're one of the few to catch on without my explanation!
No coincidence.
Stephen King writes horror and he has the male version of my given name.
I'm the opposite sex and I write the OPPOSITE genre, Romance.
Soooo... I came up with the opposite name for my pen name.
Stephanie Queen. Opposite of Stephen King.
Thanks for asking!

There's two forms of inspiration, which I am equally influenced by.
One one hand, there's the desire to eat and pay the mortgage and go out dancing now and then, none of which can happen without the work of writing.
On the other hand, there's the dream, asleep or awake it doesn't matter. A scene appears in my head as if it's another dimension of my life and I'm there--usually watching but sometimes I have a role--and it plays like a dream world, but I don't want it to end so I join in and create and eventually I write it all down.

He Has Game - a hockey romance.
It's a lucky coincidence that we're in the midst of a hyper-speed version of the Stanley Cup playoffs with multiple games on every day. It's crazy hockey time!
The star of the story is goalie Finnegan Reed, an irreverent bad boy forced into a fake engagement with a nerdy college intern. So not his type.
Or is she?
