Over the past twenty years of offering painting workshops to adults, the one common trait I’ve observed in others is self-doubt and fear. I can relate, because that’s my story too. I wanted to be an artist in high school and college. Both times I chose other options and kept my dream inside. In 1999 during the Y2K Scare, I thought if the world was going to end, I at least wanted to take a watercolor class. At 43, I registered for a ten-week course and have been painting since.
I hope readers of "She Lost Her Muse," who are held back by self-doubt, are inspired to believe in themselves. I wish I could have overcome my fears at a younger age. Maybe, She Lost Her Muse will be a positive catalyst for someone. I also hope to prompt a laugh or two as we recognize ourselves in the antics of some of the characters.
