Robert F. Lackey She heard his footsteps from the kitchen, going up stairs to their bedroom where he dropped his car keys into the glass dish on his dresser, like he always did. She trembled to hear it again, day after day since his funeral, he stomped up those steps and dropped those keys, and screamed out her name. - Robert F. Lackey
Robert F. Lackey I will have to answer this question egotistically! As I write the third novel in the Pulaski Saga, I have to admit that my favorite fiction couple is Ben and Sonja Pulaski!
Robert F. Lackey Gee, I guess I'm lucky here. I have yet to be faced with that. As I get ideas, I jot down a quick synopsis and stick it in my Story Ideas file. I think I will have to live to 100 in order to get to all the ideas in that file. Being able to come down each morning to my 'word factory' is also a great idea germination experience. The visual clutter gives me lots of escape moments, when I can lose myself in those scenes, and manage to come back with what I need. So far, anyway. - Bob
Robert F. Lackey I am currently working on "Raven's Risk", the second sequel to "Pulaski's Canal". As I have mapped out the Pulaski saga, my approach is to overlap each story by a few minutes. This next story begins just before the end of Blood on the Chesapeake. - Bob
Robert F. Lackey I was fascinated by the remnants of the old Susquehanna and Tidewater Canal locks nestled in the woods of the Susquehanna State Park near Havre de Grace, Md. The area and the time period was intriguing because of its place in the American Canal Era, involvement with the Underground Railroad, and as a microcosm of mid nineteenth century America. It all flowed through Havre de Grace.
